ROCHELLE – Jeffery Lee Stein peacefully went to heaven on Nov. 10 following a short illness. He was surrounded in love by his wife Amelia (Amy), niece Amber Doss, great-nephew Jarrett Lesher and family friend Elisabeth Earnest.

Jeff was a modest man who proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He married the love of his life, Amy, on April 19, 1980. He loved her so sweetly. Jeff was a caring and giving man, always worrying about the needs of others. Through the years, he took care of family members as they faced illnesses of their own. Jeff was often referred to as only “Uncle” to those near and dear to him. He could often be found playing Legos or trains on the floor with the kids at any gathering, and had a permanent seat at “The Kids’ Table.” Jeff was a great listener, and encouraged every dream that one had.

Amy and Jeff had a love for all things Disney. They enjoyed going to the Disney parks and collecting beautiful Disney memorabilia. They loved to go cruising, and have set sail on more than 60 cruises. Amy and Jeff knew the importance of their years together, and made sure to make the most of them.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Amy, siblings Steve (Marcia) Stein of Lake Villa, Linda (Gary) Richardson of Davenport, Florida, brother-in-law Ronald (Becky) Hall of Stillman Valley, mother-in-law Ida Hall of Rochelle and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and close family friends. He is predeceased by parents Bob and Helen Powers, children Michelle Stein and Jeffery Lee Stein Jr, father-in-law Joseph Hall and brother-in-law and best friend Don Hall.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Jeff at Kemper Center in Kenosha, WI on Dec. 4 from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Timeisnowtohelp.org or Hope Hospice in Ft. Myers, Florida.
