WINTERVILLE, N.C. – John Philip Williams, 77, passed away Sunday, Aug. 22.

John was born in Corsicana, Texas on Feb. 2, 1944 to Edward C. Williams and Elizabeth A. Sutton. He graduated high school and one year of college at Iowa State University.

John served in the US Air Force from 1964, discharged in 1968. The time spent in Germany, he really enjoyed. He spent most of his years as a carpenter. John loved to socialize with friends. His hobby was building stainless pig cookers and barbequing.

John is preceded in death by his parents and a sister; Marcy.

John is survived by his girlfriend; Cheryl Asbury of 26 years; daughter Marcy; sisters Edna and Betty; grandsons, Triston, Fallon, and Austin and one niece and three nephews.
