ROCHELLE — Julie Marie Lyle, 71, loving mother and grandmother passed away Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021 at the Rochelle Community Hospital in Rochelle.  Julie was born on March 3, 1950 in DeKalb, the daughter of Julius and Evelyn (Houghtby) Brewer. On July 26, 1969, she married Orville “Allen” Lyle in Shabonna.

Julie wore many hats over the years, working at DeKalb Ag, Aramark, First Presbyterian Church and caring for many. Julie was faithful to her Lord and Savior and loved him with all of her heart, soul and mind. She was constantly humming hymns and reading her Bible. She also enjoyed crocheting and could always be found with a good cup of coffee, one of her favorites in life. She was a very kind, sweet, generous and compassionate person with the best sense of humor. Even animals responded to her gentle nature as her family dubbed her the “animal whisperer.”  But more than anything, her family was everything to her. She loved them with all of her heart.

Julie is survived by her three children: Jeana (Todd) Abbott, Danielle (Joseph) Norris and Timothy Lyle all of Rochelle; two brothers: Robert Brewer of Rochelle and James (Laura) Brewer of Schaumburg; five grandchildren: Zackary Abbott, Brittany (Brandon) Schaneberg, Matthew Norris, Joshua Norris and Rebecca Norris and great grandson, Jackson Charles Schaneberg.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Cremation care has been provided by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the family. Visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the online guest book.
