Kevin John Wagner, formerly of Rochelle, passed away suddenly at the age of 61 on Monday, May 24 at his home in St. Petersburg, Florida with his companion at his side.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Kevin John Wagner, formerly of Rochelle, passed away suddenly at the age of 61 on Monday, May 24 at his home in St. Petersburg, Florida with his companion at his side.

Kevin was born to Ervin Jerome and Mary Irene (Cloutier) Wagner on Sept. 27, 1959, in Madison, Wisconsin.  While Kevin relocated to Florida, he worked at the St. Petersburg and Passe Grille Yacht Clubs. 

Kevin loved the theatre and especially the musicals. He loved all the holidays and especially Christmas as he decorated with quite a flair.  He loved his family and friends dearly and had a special place in his heart for all animals. 

Kevin leaves behind his life partner, Mike Wood, and his special four-legged buddy, Cody. His sisters and brothers: Debra (Rod) Schauff, David Wagner, Scott Wagner, Mary Beth (Mick) Metzger, Suzanne (Albert) Contreras, Jeffrey (Angie) Wagner, Tricia (Ralf) Herrera and Christopher Wagner; sister-in-laws; Sandy (John) Hoffman and Barbara McFeaters.  He leaves behind many aunts and uncles and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents: Ervin J. and Mary I. Wagner; brother, Michael James Wagner; sister, Renee’ Marie (Wagner) Brown; brother-in-law, Jack Sumner; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Kristy (Wood) and Roy Hines; sister-in-law, Patricia (Wood) Platt; niece, Erin Elizabeth (Brown) Shmhwna and great niece, Lincoln Marie White Reed.

A memorial service for Kevin’s close friends was held in St. Petersburg, Florida.  A grand celebration of life for his family and friends up north Is being planned in the near future.
