MALTA — On Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. a Veterans Day Ceremony at Kishwaukee College to honor veterans began with an introduction by Laurie S. Borowics (college president).
The program included a recognition of military service members by Greg Putra (director of financial aid, Kishwaukee College), a presentation on the transition from active duty to a full-time student by Anthony Schumaker (student), a presentation by Chuck Roberts (senior vice commander, American Legion Post 403, Rochelle) on what veterans did while in the service and a reading by John Gruben (commander, American Legion Post 403, Rochelle) from a passage by Larry Johansen.
This ceremony is held annually and is sponsored by the Veterans Advocacy Committee of Kishwaukee College.
