LINDENWOOD — Lance Matthew New, 62, passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2021 at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin from complications from COVID-19. Lance was born on Sept. 3, 1959 to Vernon T. and Barbara (Boutain) New in Rochelle.

Lance worked for many years at Walmart. He also worked for the Delmonte can plant in Rochelle for 18 years. He was an avid Miami Dolphins fan, loved his basset hounds and was a prolific collector of coffee mugs and beanie babies. Lance was also a baptized member of the Flagg Center Church of God – Faith of Abraham for over 50 years.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara New of Hope, Arkansas; sister, Gwen New of Rochelle; brother, Corey New of Los Alamos, New Mexico; three nieces: Holly (Robert) Bowers of Beloit and Tessa and Lily New of Los Alamos, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon.
