ROCHELLE — Loyce L. Herrmann, 90, passed away peacefully with family by her side Thursday, March 17 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon. Loyce was born on Jan. 20, 1932 to Lars and Laurentze (Kristensen) Larsen in Forest County, Wisconsin. On Nov. 5, 1955, she married Arvene James Herrmann in Lee. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2019. Loyce worked for many years at Northern Illinois University, retiring in 1993.

Loyce is survived by her three children: Melinda (John) Russell of Stillman Valley, Laura (Larry) Murray of Rochelle, and Scott Herrmann of Rockford, IL; sisters-in-law: Rose Larsen of Rochelle, Lillian Larson of Arkansas, Helen (Michael) Finnestad of Rochelle, Ruth (George) Wixom of Mendota, Donna (Bob) Waters of Steward and Ellen Herrmann of St Louis, Missouri; brother-in-law: Dean (Joannie) Herrmann of Rochelle; five grandchildren: Justin Russell, Courtney (Ricky James) Borrett, Wil, Cord and Shane Murray; nine great grandchildren: Whitley, Kaegan, Gavin, Ricky, Joey, Olivia, Averene, Riley, and Elijah and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Loyce was predeceased by her brothers: Lawrence, Henry (Jeanette) Larsen and infant brother, Randolph; sisters: Gladys (Phil) Person and Signe (Bill) Eber; brothers-in-law: Vince Herrmann and Ken Herrmann and sisters-in-law: Mary Munn and Janet Herrmann.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, March 20, at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 21at the Rochelle United Methodist Church, 709 4th Ave., Rochelle with Pastor Glen Stewart officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
