LENA — Julia Moore of the Lena American Legion Auxiliary presented the American Legion Auxiliary's Hero Award to five-year old Kamdyn Mickley of Dixon.
Kamdyn was with his grandfather in Rochelle when his grandfather fell over having a stroke. Kamdyn immediately started calling his mom and didn't stop until she finally answered. He told her to call the ambulance. He is credited with saving his grandfather's life.
"He was too big, I couldn't pick him up,” Kamdyn said.
