ROCHELLE – Armed Forces Day honors those who are serving, Veterans Day honors those who have served, and Memorial Day remembers those who have died while serving. Celebrate Memorial Day at the Flagg Township Museum on Sunday, May 26 at 1 p.m. Tom McDermott will be showcasing stories and memorabilia about local veterans who have died while serving in the military. This program honors several brave soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Visitors are encouraged to use the research station, Research Rochelle, to access the comprehensive lists compiled by Lydia Roberts of veterans buried in St. Patrick’s Cemetery and Trinity Memory Gardens. Visitors are able to access these lists and more through the museum’s digital records at the research station. Veterans and families of veterans can use the biographical forms and suggested questions available from the Veterans History Project that are always available to encourage the sharing of memories.
