ROCHELLE — Formerly known as the Rochelle Area Community Emergency Shelter (RACES), the Rochelle Area Community Emergency Services has served as a place of refuge, a place for those needing temporary shelter in a time of emergency. The shelter is celebrating 30 years of assisting those in need with an event.
“If we touch one human soul, look how much better our Ogle County and our world would be,” facility director Pete Pascua said.
The event is set for Friday, June 22 and will include a celebration cake and punch from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Teen Town, 101 Eighth Ave.
Pascua will make brief remarks at 5:15 p.m.
Pascua, together with wife Gloria, have helped thousands of people over the years.
