ROCHELLE – The Rochelle Area Community Foundation (RACF) recently announced the creation of The Todd Ackland Legacy Fund, established to celebrate the life and legacy of local pastor Todd Ackland. This endowed designated fund will provide opportunities for individuals to attend Christian events such as Rock Weekend, Tres Dias, mission trips, and similar experiences — causes Todd was deeply passionate about.
Doug Forsberg, senior pastor of the First Presbyterian Church and close friend of Todd, reflected on Todd’s powerful legacy:
"Todd loved Rochelle and its people, and his impact on our lives cannot be measured,” Forsberg said. “Over the past few years, I watched Todd bear witness to the love of Jesus Christ poured out into the lives of young people. Todd shared that love in ways big and small, and he never gave up — working for the Lord until he could no longer do so, offering the last full measure of devotion to the Lord and to young people in our community. This fund will offer a great way to continue that devotion — bringing forth praise from those who’ve yet to be born (Psalm 102:18)."
Cass Headon, a close friend of Todd and co-founder of the fund, shared her thoughts on Todd’s legacy:
"Todd had an undeniable passion for helping others, especially our youth,” Headon said. “He dedicated his life to building connections and making sure young people had opportunities to grow their faith and build strong foundations in their lives. This fund will continue Todd’s heart for service, allowing others to experience the love and guidance he embodied so fully."
Senior Pastor Dan Sergeant of New Hope Fellowship Church, who entered ministry serving on staff with Todd from 2001 to 2004, added:
"Todd lived his life striving to point people to Jesus, so that they would follow Him as their Lord and Savior,” Sergeant said. “This legacy fund takes the baton and hands it to future generations. May we also strive to make Jesus known and see lives transformed. I know that Todd would be overjoyed to see others in our community embracing this goal."
The Todd Ackland Legacy Fund is a fitting tribute to Todd’s dedication to the Rochelle community and his commitment to supporting spiritual and personal growth. Contributions to this fund will help keep Todd's mission alive, providing resources for individuals to participate in faith-based events that help shape their lives.
Emily Anaya, executive director of the RACF, emphasized the importance of establishing endowed designated funds like this:
"Endowed Designated funds allow individuals and families to create lasting legacies that continue to impact the community for years to come,” Anaya said. “Through the Todd Ackland Legacy Endowment Fund, we’re not only preserving Todd’s spirit and love for this community, but we’re also ensuring that his passion for empowering youth and supporting faith-based growth will continue. It’s a powerful way to keep his memory alive and inspire future generations."
The RACF encourages the community to support the growth of Todd’s legacy of faith, compassion, and community service by contributing to The Todd Ackland Legacy Fund.
