RACF grants over $12,000 to Rochelle Rescue Mission

Posted

ROCHELLE – The Rochelle Area Community Foundation (RACF) held a Fall Grant Cycle in September which awards one nonprofit partner with grant funding. After reviewing several grant submissions, the RACF Grants Committee felt the Rochelle Rescue Mission application for their All Needs Met Within The Community program would have the greatest impact on the community.

On Wednesday morning, some of the members of the RACF Board of Directors presented the Rochelle Rescue Mission Board of Directors with a check in the amount of $12,100.

“This program will help our guests meet their needs through local merchants,” Michele Glen of the Rochelle Rescue Mission said. “We plan to spend this money locally for food from restaurants, purchasing bicycles and locks, personal laundry needs, transportation, clothing, personal hygiene items and more.”

“Not only will the needs of those being served by the Rochelle Rescue Mission be met to the fullest extent, but these funds will help support local businesses in town,” Grants Committee Chair Kathy Hollonbeck said. “What a great way to provide impact to the Rochelle community.”

The RACF will host its annual Community Needs Grant Cycle in the spring of 2022. If you want to make a donation to the Rochelle Area Community Foundation Endowment Fund, which supports programs such as the Rochelle Rescue Mission and many others, please contact RACF Executive Director Emily Anaya at 815-561-3600, email director@rochellefoundation.org or visit www.rochellefoundation.org.

The Rochelle Area Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization designed to offer those with a philanthropic heart a simple way to make a positive difference in the community.
