DEKALB — The Rochelle Middle School track and field team faced off against DeKalb Huntley in a North Central Junior Conference meet this past Thursday. The Royal seventh-graders won 64-31, while the Lady Royal seventh-graders lost 87-22. The Royal eighth-graders fell 81-23 and the Lady Royal eighth-graders were taken down 77-36.

7th Boys

Van Gerber took third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 15.68 seconds and Mark Green finished third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 31.84 seconds. Parker Slattengren placed second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:22.33 and Mason Ludwig won the 800-meter run unopposed with a time of 3:36.03.

Declan McGee won the 1600-meter run unopposed with a time of 6:24.06 and Wyatt Worthington won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 22.25. Rochelle won both the 800-meter relay and the 1600-meter relay unopposed.

Ludwig won both the shot put with a mark of 17 feet 4 inches and discus with a mark of 42 feet. Gerber won both the long jump with a distance of 12 feet 7 inches and the triple jump with a distance of 25 feet 3 inches.

7th Girls

Lily Hamilton took third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:37.11 and Cali Zies finished third in the 800-meter run with a time of 3:41.26. Savanna Wilson placed third in the 1600-meter run with a time of 7:06.70 and Kyrie Craigin took third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 22.00.

Rochelle finished second in the 400-meter relay, the 800-meter relay and the 1600-meter relay on Thursday. Dylan Etes placed third in the shot put with a mark of 16-1 and Abby Losoya took third in the discus with a throw of 24-4. Craigin won the high jump with a clearance of 3-10 and Vivian Worthington won the triple jump unopposed with a distance of 14-7 1/2.

8th Boys

Jackson Smith won the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.90 and the 800-meter run with a time of 2:44.73. Rochelle took second in the 400-meter relay and Cash Budde finished third in the shot put with a heave of 15-5. Chris Hickey placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 22-10 and Smith won the long jump with a distance of 12-6.

8th Girls

Makayla Lara won the 100-meter dash with a time of 15.30 and Bridgette Ramirez took third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 34.51. Arline Villanueva won the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:18.48 and Zoe White won the 800-meter run with a time of 3:08.08.

Brisa Zepeda placed third in the 1600-meter run with a time of 7:59.58. Rochelle won the 800-meter relay and finished second in the 1600-meter relay. Aaliyah Losoya took second in the shot put with a mark of 19-6 and Jayden Johnson finished second in the high jump with a clearance of 3-10. Lara placed second in the triple jump with a distance of 26-10 1/2.
