Rochelle City Council petitions for candidacy available July 30

ROCHELLE — Candidate packets for three four-year full-term council members in the City of Rochelle will be available in the City Clerk’s Office at Rochelle City Hall located at 420 N. 6th St. Petitions may be circulated beginning July 30.

City residents running for the office must file as if there will be a primary election involving 13 or more candidates for the office of council member. If required, the Consolidated Primary Election will be held on Feb. 25, 2025. If there are not 13 or more candidates for the office of council member, there will not be a primary, and the names of the candidates will be placed on the ballot for the Consolidated General Election to be held on April 1, 2025.

The Rochelle City Clerk’s Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 21-25, 2024, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 28, 2024, to accept candidate petitions or certificates for the Consolidated Primary Election to be held on Feb. 25, 2025.
