Roland & Wilma Terry

CRESTON — Wilma Terry, 79, and Roland Terry, 83, formerly of Tennessee, passed away within hours of one another Tuesday, March 2, 2021 and Wednesday, March 3, 2021 respectively.

Wilma was born on March 25, 1941 to Sie and Lillie (Hurst) King in Frakes, Kentucky. Roland was born on August 18, 1937 to Charlie and Louetta (Willis) Terry in Eagan, Tennessee.  On May 27, 1957, they were married in Jellico, Tennessee.

Both Wilma and Roland worked for over 25 years at GE in DeKalb until their retirement. Wilma enjoyed quilting and crocheting while Roland spent his time in their basement woodworking.  

They are survived by their five children, Kyle (Dawn) Terry of Creston, Janie (Keith) Rynko of Malta, Judy (Ron) Childers of Creston, Roland (Jennifer) Terry of Rochelle, and Greg Terry of DeKalb; 16 grandchildren, Brian (Dora) Terry, Amber (Jeremy) Williams, Shannon (Brad) Nelson, Deanna (Eric) Ayala, Savannah (Jon) Borders, Derek (Stephony) Johnson, Austin Childers, David Terry, Joshua Terry, Brittany Terry, Gaige Terry, Jacob Terry, Jonah, Krystalina, Kelley (Josh) Kapraun and Jessica (Jason) Shull; 29 great-grandchildren; Wilma’s siblings, Roy (Rhonda) Dixon and Juanita (Wayne) Leach; Roland’s siblings, Jerome, Raymond and Ralph Terry.

In addition to their parents, they are preceded in death by their son, Michael Terry and two grandsons; Timothy Swenson and Michael Terry; and Roland’s brother, Leonard and Earl Terry.

There will be a visitation from 3 to 5 p.m. p.m. on Sunday, March 7 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. There will be a private funeral service at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 8 with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. The funeral service will be live streamed on the Unger-Horner Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Cemetery in Creston.
