LIVERMORE, Calif. — Russell (Russ) Nathan Bearrows, 73, a former Rochelle resident and grandson of Merritt and Jessie Bearrows, passed away peacefully with family after a lengthy illness in Livermore, Calif.
Russ spoke fondly of life on the family farm near Flagg Center. Many of his interests later in life reflect the time he spent growing up on the farm.
He was active in a local amateur radio club, enjoyed blacksmithing, developed and presented historic farm programs, along with his wife Judy, to share their love of farming for their local county fair and the Livermore Heritage Guild at Hagemann Ranch in Livermore.
Russ's wife, Judy, will always remember Russ as her life-long best friend, always patient, kind and loving. He was a devoted husband and father and she had the privilege of being his wife for 53 years.
Russ is survived by his wife Judy; his sister, Susan Holladay of Greenville, Ohio; his daughter, Wendy DuBois (Eric) of Suquamish, Wash.; his son, Rusty Bearrows (Jennifer) of San Jose, Calif.; and grandchildren, Morgan DuBois, Alex DuBois, Hailey Bearrows, Jordan Bearrows and Nathan Bearrows.
Russ was laid to rest in Auburn, Calif., near his parents.
