ROCHELLE — It is time once again to select the Kiwanis Golden K Little Miss Peanut winner.
The contest will be held on Friday night, Aug. 16, at the Lincoln Highway Heritage Festival, at 6 p.m. on the stage. The contest is open to girls ages 6, 7, and 8 at the time of the festival. There is a limit of 10 contestants selected to participate from the applications received. Entrants will be judged on the qualities of confidence, character, and creativity.
The Little Miss Peanut winner and runner-up will get to ride in the Heritage Festival parade on Sunday, Aug. 18.
Little Miss Peanut will reign over the Kiwanis Peanut Days on Sept. 6 and 7, and help collect donations for bags of peanuts at various locations around town. The winner and runner-up will also ride in the Creston Booster Days parade, and the Light up Lincoln parade in Rochelle.
To enter, you can request an application from the Kiwanis Club at rochellegoldenk@gmail.com.
