ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Lady Hub varsity softball team hosted Sycamore on Wednesday, falling 12-5 and moving to 3-4 on the season. Junior Jordin Dickey went 2-for-4 with a double, while senior Kendal Ansteth and sophomore Addie Friestad each doubled in the loss.
Sophomore Morgan Smardo doubled and scored on an RBI single from junior MeLisa Young in the first inning. Rochelle plated one more run in the fifth inning, where senior Bella Lodico scored after reaching on a hit-by-pitch.
The Lady Hubs rallied for two runs in the sixth inning. Junior Ashley Knight doubled and scored on an error, while Lodico singled and scored on a wild pitch. Senior Sawyer McGee lined a single to left in the seventh inning, eventually scoring on an RBI groundout from Knight.
