ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Speech Team hosted its Novice Tournament this past weekend.
Out of the 10 schools competing, Rochelle placed second as a team, with Downers Grove South earning first place.
Individuals earning finalist honors included:
Lilly Weston, first place, Extemporaneous Speaking;
Lilly Weston and Jenn Heinrich, first place, Humorous Duet Acting;

Megan Thiravong, first place, Radio Speaking;
Paul Swartz and Landon DeLille, second place, Humorous Duet Acting;
Logan Popp, second place, Oratory;
Bella Nauman, third place, Oratorical Declamation, and third place, Oratory;
Katie Henson, third place, Impromptu Speaking;
Jenn Heinrich and Katie Henson, sixth place, Dramatic Duet Acting;
Paul Swartz, sixth place, Special Occasion Speaking; and
Sierra Ramos, sixth place, Informative Speaking.
