ROCHELLE — St. Paul Lutheran School hosted the 2023 Meridian Conference Boys Basketball tournament this past week. St. Paul took home this year’s title with a 54-20 win over Kings in the championship game on Thursday evening.
The tournament opened with the quarterfinal round on Tuesday, when Cornerstone defeated Steward 46-28 and Eswood beat Creston 44-23. The semifinals were held on Wednesday, with St. Paul topping Cornerstone 49-15 and Kings outlasting Eswood 26-14.
The St. Paul roster includes Mikey Chadwick, Cohen Haedt, Joey Chadwick, Austin Hartnett, Braxton Bruns, Tyler Johnson, Chase Atkinson, Luke Chadwick, Kayl True, Eli Schweitzer, Tyson Carmichael, Vinny Tornabene, Axel Alsop, Quinn Miller and Om Shah. The team is coached by Ryan Haedt and Craig Reineck.
