Tenggren awarded as Rochelle’s August Remarkable Resident
Posted
ROCHELLE — Every month the City of Rochelle honors a Remarkable Resident in Rochelle – a program established by the Rochelle Retail Advisory Board nearly two years ago.
Those who are awarded each month are nominated by someone from the community.
The August Remarkable Resident is Christopher Tenggren.
According to the nomination made by Heather Wiedrich, “Christopher Tenggren is the Wolf Den Leader for Cub Scout Pack No. 553 and always gives so much of his time to the youth of Rochelle by teaching them good life skills and so much more. He also serves Boy Scouts of America White Eagle District as co-chair of programs, bringing great programs and events to Boy Scouts all over the district. He is definitely changing lives and making a difference in our community.”
Following a photo at the Monday night Rochelle City Council meeting at which he was recognized for his award, Tenggren thanked the council.
“It’s an honor being a newer business leader in the community – I manage the Weichert realtors office here in Rochelle… giving back to the community is what we believe in as an organization and company and also through scouting. Having been a Scout in my youth I understand the value of Scouting and at this time in our society I think we probably need scouting more than ever before,” Tenggren said. “…I’m glad to be involved in Rochelle with the Cub Scout Pack No. 553. It’s also an honor to serve under the Blackhawk Area Council in the White Eagle District which is Lee, Ogle and Whiteside counties as a member of the district committee.”
