ROCHELLE – A Compton woman suffered fatal injuries in a Tuesday accident on Illinois Route 251, an Illinois State Police press release said

At 5:53 p.m. the state police responded to Illinois Route 251 approximately a quarter mile north of Gurler Road. The preliminary investigation revealed a truck tractor/semi-trailer combination driven by Mark A. Geesey, 57, of Dixon, was entering Illinois Route 251 northbound from a private drive and was struck by a southbound minivan driven by Nancy D. Mlynski, 64, of Compton.

Geesey did not suffer from any apparent injuries. Mlynski suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation and charges are pending. The ISP were assisted on scene by the Illinois Department of Transportation, Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Rochelle Police Department, Rochelle Fire/EMS and the Ogle County Coroner’s Office.
The public is reminded that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
