CHAMPAIGN — The Rochelle Wrestling Club sent five athletes to the 2024 Champaign Grappler at Centennial High School on Sunday. One athlete brought home a first-place finish, while two others secured second-place finishes and one took home a third-place finish.
Nehemiah Andronic finished first in the Bantam 65-69 Division with a 3-0 record. Andronic scored a 5-1 decision over Built by Brunson’s Lincoln Projansky and a 4-3 decision over SJO Spartan YWC’s Benson Damler. Andronic clinched the division championship in the final round, securing an 11-2 major decision against Wilmington Wrestling Club’s Lodi Morgan.
Wells Millard took second in the Bantam 50-54 Division with a 2-1 record, earning a 9-0 major decision over TJ Trained Wrestling’s Zackary Vest and SJO Spartan YWC’s Carson Gallo. Elias Andronic took second in the Bantam 55-58 Division with a 2-1 record, notching a 15-0 technical fall over Mt. Zion Kids WC’s Briggs Patrick and an 11-2 major decision over Olney’s Jack Abell.
Teddy Millard placed third in the Novice 71-74 Division with a 2-2 record, securing a fall over Storm Youth WC’s Drake Reed and a 15-2 major decision over Glenview Junior Titans Wrestling’s Ryan Silver. Landon Leigh took fifth in the Novice 97-99 Division.
