ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Hub JV wrestling team won the Interstate 8 Conference meet at Rochelle Township High School on Saturday. It’s the second conference title for the JV Hubs, who scored 252 points to finish first ahead of runner-up LaSalle-Peru, who had 230 points.

Sophomore Colten Manning finished first in the 113-pound division with a 2-0 record. Manning earned a third-period fall over Morris wrestler Aidyn Taylor in the semifinal round before clinching the title with a second-period fall over Morris wrestler Eli McDonnell in the finals. Sophomore Tony Milburn finished first in the 120-pound division with a 1-0 record, scoring a second-period fall over Morris wrestler Gabriel Seto to take home the division crown.

Freshman Eliud Lombardia finished first in the 126-pound division with a 2-0 record. Lombardia started the tournament with a 17-5 major decision over LaSalle-Peru’s Connor Kness in the semifinal round before taking home the title with a fall over Morris wrestler Jacob Meloun.

Freshman Hadley Losoya finished first in the 132-pound division with a 3-0 record. Losoya began the tournament with a fall over Kaneland’s Christian Alvarez before notching another fall over Kaneland’s Nolan Polloway. Losoya faced off against his teammate, senior Riley Damask, in the championship match, with Losoya emerging victorious by a 9-0 major decision.

Sophomore Frank Nasca finished first in the 138-pound division with a 2-0 record. Nasca started the tournament with a first-period fall over Morris wrestler Jordan Martinez before sealing the division title with a second-period fall against LaSalle-Peru’s David Nave.

Freshman Alex Pellicer finished first in the 157-pound division with a 2-0 record. Pellicer earned a first-period fall over LaSalle-Peru’s Daniel Edwall in the semifinal round and secured the division championship with a 15-6 major decision over Morris wrestler Jeffery Martinez.

Senior Riley Damask took second in the 132-pound division with a 2-1 record, securing a second-period fall over Ottawa’s Mark Munson and a first-period fall over LaSalle-Peru’s Brandon Lamps. Freshman Brandin Kirk took second in the 144-pound division with a 2-1 record, notching falls over Morris wrestler AJ Sheegog and Kaneland’s Chance Anderson.

Freshman Angel Argueta took second in the 150-pound division with a 1-1 record, scoring a fall over LaSalle-Peru’s Logan Harmon. Junior Jordan Bly took second in the 165-pound division with a 2-1 record, notching a first-period fall against Kaneland’s Isaiah Horn before securing a first-period fall against Ottawa’s Brayden Streicher in the semifinal round of the bracket.

Senior Frank Decena took second in the 215-pound division with a 1-1 record, earning an 8-4 decision against Kaneland’s Garrett Herst. Senior Carlos Tomas took third in the 215-pound division and senior Abel Huerta took third in the 150-pound division with a 2-1 record, scoring a 9-4 decision over Morris’ Dillon Vargas and a 10-6 decision over LaSalle-Peru’s Logan Harmon.

Freshman Christopher O’Neill placed sixth in the 175-pound division with a 3-2 record, earning a first-period fall over Ottawa’s Sam White as well as a fall over Morris wrestler Brian Haish and a 8-0 major decision against Kaneland’s Ryan Duffing. Freshman Tyler Etes placed sixth in the 157-pound division and senior Mateo Hughes went 2-2 over four bouts in the 175-pound division, recording a fall over Morris wrestler Brian Haish and a fall over Ottawa’s Sam White.
