Dixon — The Next Picture Show is pleased to announce the award recipients from the Regional Survey of Art Exhibition, presented at the opening reception, Saturday, Jan. 13.
Awards Judge, Mari Jo Schuneman of Rock Falls, presented Best of Show to Vicki Crone of Rockford for “2 Kids;” first place to Adam Watkins of Savannah for his “Fur;” Karen Tucker of Grand Detour accepted second place for “Anne’s Heirlooms;” and third place went to Beverly Garcia of Grand Detour for “Ram’s Head.”
A total of five Honorable Mention awards were also presented to Beth Wemmer of Loves Park for “Jack;” Steve Toole of Ashton for “Young Black Rhino;” Bill Vose of Paw Paw for “Woodspell;” Steve Johnson of Chicago for “Doorway in Dixon;” and Larry Bond of Sycamore for “Budapest Taxi.”
The exhibit features 39 artists and 70 works of art, both 2-D and 3-D, and continues through Feb. 24 at 113 W. First St., Dixon. TNPS Art Center hours are Tuesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4 pm.
