Believes Dady will work for citizens

Posted

Dear Editor,
Adam Kinzinger took to social media on July 30, 2018 to laud former president Eisenhower’s action on the national motto, “in God we trust.” That same day, Reverend Stork spoke before an audience of some 175 citizens and declared that 50 faith leaders have endorsed Sara Dady for congress.
Rev. Stork spoke at a community forum hosted by Action for a Better Tomorrow (ABT), an Indivisible group. ABT invited two guests: Sara Dady, a progressive democrat and small business owner; and Adam Kinzinger, the incumbent representative who did not show up.
As I observed members in my community engaging in the civic process, I noticed two things:

One: Illinois District 16 is clearly excited about Sara Dady. Her platform includes Medicare for all, to allow all Americans equal access to the healthcare we may need for addiction treatment, for mental health care, for basic health care. Dady refuses corporate PAC money. She will defend the constitutional rights granted to everyone in America, including fighting for-profit detention for civil offenses.
Two: Adam Kinzinger couldn’t be bothered to come. Over 850 constituents petitioned for a bipartisan community forum. Kinzinger ignored the petitions. For weeks, the ABT called and emailed Kinzinger’s offices regarding the forum. Kinzinger and his staff did not respond. A formal invitation was hand-carried to his office. Kinzinger stayed mum.
Rep. Kinzinger hides from and ignores constituents with whom he disagrees. At the Dixon community forum, however, Sara Dady proved just how invested she is in District 16.
Dady spoke off-script and from the heart. She listened to questions that were not pre-screened by a moderator but that came straight from her future constituents’ themselves. She earned the applause, the cheers, and, yes, a few standing ovations from an audience that came from DeKalb, Dixon, La Salle, Rockford, Steward, and more.
You can learn more about Sara Dady at saradadyforcongress.com. She attends myriad events throughout the district and is happy to speak with and advocate for everyone in the district. Vote for Sara Dady in the midterm elections on Nov. 6.
