ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Police Department in conjunction with the Rock River Valley Blood Center hosted a blood drive on Monday, July 17. The blood drive started at noon and the bus was filled with donors shortly after opening.
Hospitals and trauma centers typically see an increased need for blood use during the summer. The next mobile blood drive in Rochelle will be held on Monday, Aug. 7 at Flagg-Rochelle Public Library.
The Rock River Valley Blood Center serves as a centralized, community blood center and is the sole provider of blood products and services to Beloit Memorial Hospital, Edgerton Hospital and Health Services, FHN, Mercyhealth Rockford, OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, Rochelle Community Hospital, SwedishAmerican Health System and SwedishAmerican Medical Center—Belvidere.
