ROCHELLE — Members of the Rochelle FFA are headed to state competitions in March following their win at sectionals last week.
FFA advisor Donna Page said the Food Science and Vet Science teams competed last week at Prophetstown High School, capturing the title to move on to the state level.
“The Vet Science students had to complete practicums similar to something that a certified veterinary technician or a veterinarian would have to complete — measuring out medicines, restraining animals, haltering,” Page said. “They also had to take a basic knowledge test, complete a math practicum, and identify various breeds of animals and medical tools such as forceps, needles, and syringes.”
