Food truck festival to raise money for local kids

ROCHELLE — Bring your appetite next Saturday, Oct. 20 to the Rochelle Community Action Network’s Food Truck Festival.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will be held at Fourth Avenue and North Main Street near the downtown gazebo.

“CAN is excited to host another food truck festival for our community. This year there will be even more food vendors available to enjoy,” said Michelle Pease, CAN board member. “Come on out and support the food vendors and CAN.”
Several vendors will be at the event including El Senor de los Tacos, Ole Folks BBQ, Ralfie’s BBQ, Hicks BBQ and Oasis Real Mexican Food.
The Rochelle Community Action Network provides resources to assist children and families in becoming successful members of the community. The organization is a collaborative effort with the school district and distributes school backpacks filled with supplies as well as winter coats to children in need. The organization also has “CAN elves,” a group of local retired teachers who assist with efforts.
Over 200 area children and their families participated in the 2017 Christmas shopping trip sponsored by CAN.
