ROCHELLE – #GivingTuesday serves as a reminder and opportunity for individuals to donate to charitable organizations on the first Tuesday following Thanksgiving.

Locally, the Rochelle Area Community Foundation is a perfect way to help a large number of important agencies that make a difference right here in the Rochelle area with your one gift. Chana, Creston, Kings, Lindenwood, Rochelle and Steward are all supported and served by the foundation.

Through the generous giving of many individual donors, the Rochelle Area Community Foundation has invested nearly half a million dollars back into the local economy through grant making to local not for profit organizations while at the same time, ensuring that this giving will continue into perpetuity through the power of endowment.

Foundation grants have supported more than seventy local nonprofit organizations that benefit people of all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds. Preventing hunger, promoting the arts, improving lives through social services, community development activities and programs that promote learning are just a few of the ways your gift enhances the lives of many in our local area.

Give now

With the help of the Rochelle News-Leader, it’s simple to participate in #GivingTuesday and give now to help create a strong foundation for the future of our local communities.

A light green envelope has been inserted in this very edition of today’s News-Leader. Readers can write a check to the Rochelle Area Community Foundation, insert it into the green envelope and drop it in the mail. Suggested amounts are provided on the envelope, but a gift in any amount is appreciated.

Donations to the Rochelle Area Community Foundation can also be made online through the organization’s website. www.rochellefoundation.org.
