OREGON — Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle recently announced the appointment of Lt. Danielle Hardesty to the position of chief deputy.
Hardesty began her career with the Sheriff’s Office in 2001, serving in many capacities including corrections deputy, patrol deputy, investigations, patrol sergeant and most recently as lieutenant.
Hardesty has resided in the area her entire life, graduating from Ashton High School and attending Illinois State University earning a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. She is also a graduate of Northwestern University’s staff and command program.
Hardesty is the highest ranking female deputy in the 184 year history of the agency.
“Danielle’s extensive knowledge and passion to serve the citizens of this county makes her a great selection to lead this agency well into the future,” VanVickle said.
