Harms’ antique and collectible store offers variety of treasures

ROCHELLE — Whether searching for vintage treasures, a unique antique, or a one-of-a-kind item, a new store in Rochelle may just have it.
Just Antiques & Collectible in Rochelle, located at 525 Lincoln Highway, is a small family-run antique shop featuring oak and primitive furniture, along with glassware, pottery, jewelry and toys.
Owners Dick and Janaan Harms have been collecting antiques for nearly 40 years and made the decision to open the shop in a charming two-story brick house that dates back to the late 1800s in downtown Rochelle.

“We saw an auction sign go up on one of the oldest houses in Rochelle, and decided it would be a great location for a shop,” Janaan said.
Following the auction and four months of renovation, the shop was opened just in time for Rochelle’s Old Fashioned Christmas Walk in December 2015. The store has been open for 16 months now and features a little something for everyone with an inventory that has grown and is always changing.
“We had set a goal to open for the Christmas Walk a year ago and we did make it happen; however, the shop offers so much more now,” Dick added. “We have a nice selection of furniture, glassware, pottery and crocks, toys and much more. There is always something new in the shop because we are always out buying.”
Open three days a week, store hours are Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“A visit here is sure to bring back memories,” Janaan said. “The antique store has the flair of an old time shop, as it is full of “Just Antiques!”
