OREGON – The Ogle County Historical Society had a group of 23 visit us on Saturday, Feb. 15.
The group meets quarterly and came from Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois. Chris Martin and another Oregon alumni, Dick Fiebel of Rockford met the group and shared their Nash automobile stories and some other tales of Oregon’s car history. They told about Oregon’s own Etnyre Car Manufacturing Company which produced three horseless carriages and nine or 10 four-passenger and seven-passenger touring cars from 1906-12.
Michal Burnett led a tour of the Nash home and members Kris Gilbert and Marlene Hobbs also helped with this group.
We are open every Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon and every Wednesday, 1 to 6 p.m. Starting in May, we will be open every Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.
Call us to schedule a tour for yourselves or your group at 815-732-7545 or email us at oglecohistory@gmail.com.
