ROCHELLE — Six Mr. Hub contestants brought their best to the Rochelle Township High School auditorium Wednesday evening, with DiQuan Ishmon capturing the coveted title.
Ishmon wowed the crowd with his song and dance, afterwards donning the crown as he stood with his escort, Alex Ferrari.
The annual event helps raise money for local charities. This year, $1,700 will go to HOPE of Ogle County, Hub City Senior Center, The Kitchen Table, and Amazing Grace Foundation.

Eli Ball, Victor Tenorio, Ben Pflipsen, Justin Julian, Zephan Drew and Ishmon all competed by showing off their respective talents to a large crowd.
The runners-up for the event were Ball, escorted by Candace McMurray, and Julian, escorted by Ashley Ackerman. For their entries, Ball sang and Julian played the classical Spanish guitar.
Drew played his own arrangement to the Elvis hit, “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” Tenorio played a jazz number, and Pflipsen performed a flag routine.
Judges for the contest were Kristin Flanagan, Tasha Hacaga, and Andrew Evangelista.
Organizers for the contest were Megan Thiravong and Brandi Ferrari, both members of Student Council. Advisors for the club are Erin Bergeson and Lizzie Cartwright.
