DeKalb – The Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra presents its popular Halloween concerts on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., in the Boutell Memorial Concert, Hall inside the Music Building, Northern Illinois University, DeKalb.
The 5:30 p.m. program is shorter and more geared to children. The 7:30 p.m. program will have additional music performed.
The concerts are free to the public and no tickets are required; children may trick-or-treat inside the NIU Music Building at 5 p.m., until the start of the 5:30 p.m. concert (while supplies last).
Concert attendees are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes.
The concerts will feature the orchestra musicians and KSO Music Director and Conductor Linc Smelser in full costume. The program will include: Danse Macabre, by Camille Saint Saens; Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets; by John Williams, Music from Frozen, by Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Robert Lopez, and Christophe Beck; Imperial March from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, by John Williams; Phantom of the Opera, by Andrew Lloyd Webber; The Black Cat Fugue, by Domenico Scarlatti and Jan Bach; and much more.
This concert is supported in part by the Farny R. Wurlitzer Foundation.
