DeKALB – The Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra is proud to present its first concert of its 41st season, “Austrian Gems,” on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m., in the Boutell Memorial Concert Hall inside the Music Building, Northern Illinois University, DeKalb.
There will be a free pre-concert lecture led by Music Director and Conductor Linc Smelser, at 6:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall.
On the evening’s program will be the Overture to Don Giovanni, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Symphony No. 9 in C Major, D. 944 (“The Great”), by Franz Schubert. The orchestra will also perform Concerto No. 2 in D Major for Cello and Orchestra, Hob. VIIb:2, by Joseph Haydn, featuring Cellist Cheng-Hou Lee of the Avalon String Quartet.
