KSO to open 41st season with “Austrian Gems” on Saturday

DeKALB – The Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra is proud to present its first concert of its 41st season, “Austrian Gems,” on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m., in the Boutell Memorial Concert Hall inside the Music Building, Northern Illinois University, DeKalb.
There will be a free pre-concert lecture led by Music Director and Conductor Linc Smelser, at 6:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall.
On the evening’s program will be the Overture to Don Giovanni, by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Symphony No. 9 in C Major, D. 944 (“The Great”), by Franz Schubert. The orchestra will also perform Concerto No. 2 in D Major for Cello and Orchestra, Hob. VIIb:2, by Joseph Haydn, featuring Cellist Cheng-Hou Lee of the Avalon String Quartet.

Changes in programs, dates, times, and location of concerts will be posted on the website. Tickets go on sale 30 minutes prior to each concert.
All seats are general admission (no reserved seating). Individual ticket prices are $16 for adults, $11 for seniors 62 and over, $6 for students with school ID, and $6 for children under 12.
