Olliff graduates with high honors

LANCASTER, Calif. — Julianna Olliff, great-granddaughter of Phil Rodriguez of Rochelle, graduated from Desert Christian High School in Lancaster, Calif., on June 15 with high honors.
She graduated third in her class with a 4.20 GPA. She was the California State Federation President at her high school and enjoyed organizing nonprofit fundraisers including two different blood drives through the American Red Cross.

Olliff received many awards for her outstanding academics, Christian service, leadership, and as team captain for both varsity soccer and softball. She also received an award from the U.S. Marine Corps as a Distinguished Athlete, and from the California States Assemblyman Tom Lacky, she received a medal and award for her academic achievements.
She was awarded the 23rd Congressional District of California Merit Award for outstanding scholastic achievement by Congressman Kevin McCarthy as well as an academic excellence award from California State Congressman Steve Knight.
Olliff volunteers at Antelope Valley Hospital as she prepares herself for her nursing career. She will be attending Saint Cloud State University in Minnesota this fall to begin her nursing studies.
She received an Academic Scholarship and in-state tuition scholarship from SCSU. She also received a scholarship from the American Red Cross.
