Several local Cub Scouts attended Blackhawk Area Council Pinewood Derby at Pecatonica High School last Sunday. This was the council’s 43rd Derby.

Scouts compete at Pinewood Derby

ROCHELLE — Several local Cub Scouts attended Blackhawk Area Council Pinewood Derby at Pecatonica High School last Sunday. This was the council’s 43rd Derby.
Local finalists
The 12 finalists from Pack 553 that attended include Chayton Mott, Eliot Kessen, Braylon Wells, Nolen Schweitzer, Owen Carmichael, Bryson Wells, Daniel Rangel, William Topping, Ryan Senne, Kaiden Morris, Owen Miller, and Rhett Watson.

“Everyone from Pack 553 would like to congratulate all of our finalists,” said Jennifer Topping, Committee Chair.
Bryson Wells received third place in the runner up category.
The Blackhawk Area Council serves 18,000 youth in 12 counties in northwestern Illinois and southwestern Wisconsin.
Topping would also like to invite the community for sign up night on Thursday, May 10 at 6:30 p.m., which will be held at Lincoln School. All boys in kindergarten through fifth grades for the 2018-19 school year are welcome to sign up.
