CRESTON — Curt Ward received this year’s Cederholm Award on Sunday during Creston Booster Days.
The award is given for an individual’s contribution of their time and work for the betterment of the greater Creston area. In the 22 years as a Creston resident, Ward has been a member of the fire department and has served on the village board for at least 20 of those years. He also served on the Creston School Board.
“I’ve always said as a member of the fire department all we really ever want is just a thank you. It’s nice to get a huge thank you,” Ward said.
The award was established by the family of Theodore Cederholm and the Creston Booster Club in the early 1980s and has been presented at the Booster Day celebration each year.
