The Hubs (8-5, 4-2 Interstate 8) will host Sycamore on Wednesday.

PERU — The Rochelle Hub varsity bowling team competed without two starters during Monday's Interstate 8 Conference matchup against LaSalle-Peru. Junior Logan Frye fired a team-high 583 series, while sophomore Caleb Mortensen added a 526 series as the Cavaliers edged Rochelle 3,048-2,951. The Hubs (8-5, 4-2 Interstate 8) will host Sycamore on Wednesday.
Rochelle took the series lead on Monday, winning the first game 1,052-941 behind a series-best 257 from Frye and a series-best 198 from sophomore Andrew Powell. LaSalle-Peru claimed the second game 979-934, but the Hubs still held a slim lead in the series entering the third game, where the Cavaliers won 1,128-965 to clinch the conference series victory.
Aiden McCray spearheaded the comeback for the LaSalle-Peru side, rolling a team-best and series-best 266 in the third while. Emerson Vasquez added a series-best 198 and Aaron Siebert totaled a 191 for the Cavaliers. Powell finished with a 533 series for the Hubs, shooting respective scores of 169 and 166 over the second and third games of the match.
