AURORA — The Rochelle Hub varsity tennis team faced a strong Illinois Math & Science Academy (IMSA) squad on Tuesday evening, conceding a 6-0 loss in nonconference play. Rochelle (6-10, 1-4 Interstate 8) will face Newman Central Catholic on the road Thursday.

IMSA claimed all three singles points in the nonconference match on Tuesday. Senior Jimmy Chavez took one game in a 0-6, 1-6 loss to Luke Yin at the No. 1 court, while sophomore Philip Winters conceded an 0-6, 0-6 loss to Aidan Kim at the No. 2 court. Freshman Connor Hunley took a team-best two games in his 1-6, 1-6 loss against Arnav Patel at the No. 3 court.

The Hubs fell in all three doubles matches on Tuesday. Senior Parker Lenkaitis and sophomore Mark Green secured four games in a 3-6, 1-6 loss against Charles Ludwig and Laksh Mehta at the No. 1 court, while seniors Austin Raleigh and Eli Luxton were swept in an 0-6, 0-6 loss to Rithik Thekiniath and Chad Park at the No. 2 court. Senior Alex McBride and sophomore Caleb Mortensen took one game in an 0-6, 1-6 loss to Prabhav Veeramachaneni and Harrison Jang at the No. 3 court.
