ROCHELLE —Diamond G Ranch at 4564 S. Knoll Road in Rochelle will be hosting a two-day miniature horse event on July 10-11.
The first day includes hands-on clinics, demos and open arena. Bayles' Miniatures from Gibson, Illinois are part of the demos and offering stage coach rides. The other demo is a miniature chariot with David Charlton of Rocking Pony Farm at the reins.
Clinics are showmanship and draft roll braiding. People may bring their own minis for the clinics and participate for a donation of their choice. The arena will be open after demos and clinics.
The second day, the ranch will be hosting an open miniature horse show. Diamond G’s minis can show off their talent in halter, showmanship, pleasure driving, draft driving, in-hand jumping, in-hand obstacle, driving obstacle, barrels, plug, flags, costume and liberty classes.
“We are part of a group of people who love our minis,” Donna Burlo of the ranch said. “We hope to form a sanctioned club, host a sanctioned event and promote these wonderful little horses! We love to love and share these little guys!”
The store will also be open both days. This event is open to the public, and people are welcome to watch and meet the horses. The ranch is owned by Lane and Jenna Krieser.
