Food, WiFi available for Rochelle students

ROCHELLE — Monday marked the start of a temporary move to all remote learning for students in the Rochelle elementary and high school districts. Rochelle schools currently plan to resume in-person learning when the eight-week pause concludes on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021.
Rochelle schools will continue to provide food for students during remote learning. Distributions will be on Mondays and Thursdays from 11-1 p.m. and 3-5 p.m. in the east parking lot at Rochelle Middle School. Public WiFi
Rochelle district students will have public access to WiFi at the following locations: Downtown Rochelle (Main Street parking lot at Fifth Avenue, network name is COR-free, connect with splash page). Esmond and Lindenwood (Lynn-Scott-Rock Fire Station, 15940 E. Lindenwood Road, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.). Flagg-Rochelle Public Library (hotspot in parking spaces between library and city hall, no password required). Kings (call Kings School at 815-562-7191). Rochelle Middle School (WiFi in four corners of the building, username is D231guest and password is elearner). Rochelle Township High School (north end of the student parking lot. Chromebooks will automatically connect). Steward (Steward Fire Station, 311 Main St., 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., no password necessary). Creston (Creston School parking lot, call 815-384-3920 for password). Rochelle district students will also have access to mobile WiFi shared from district busses during the remote learning period. The WiFi password is smartbus. The mobile WiFi connections will be available at the following locations during the week: Shangri La park area (Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8-11 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday from 12-3 p.m.), Treatment Plant Road at old car wash (Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12-3 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday from 8-11 a.m.), Spring Lake Marina parking lot (Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8-11 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday from 12-3 p.m.), St. Patrick Church west parking lot (Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12-3 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday from 8-11 a.m.).
Memorial Park parking lot (Monday and Friday from 8-11 a.m. Wednesday from 12-3 p.m.), VFW Park parking lot (Monday and Friday from 12-3 p.m. Tuesday from 8-11 a.m.), Connolly Park area on Gary Street (Tuesday and Thursday from 12-3 p.m. Wednesday from 8-11 a.m.).
