ROCHELLE — Freshman Adyson Carter finished with 20 saves as the Rochelle Lady Hub varsity soccer team hung tough during the first half of its match with DeKalb on Thursday night.
The Barbs held a 2-0 halftime lead after goals in the 10th and 38th minutes. Despite finishing with nine shots and three shots on goal, the Lady Hubs were unable to avoid the shutout, while DeKalb’s offense poured in five second-half goals to hand Rochelle a 7-0 nonconference loss. The Lady Hubs (2-15, 0-9 Interstate 8) will host Kaneland for their Interstate 8 finale Monday.
Junior Makayla Lara led the Rochelle offense with six total shots and three shots on goal during the loss to the Barbs on Thursday. Junior Betty Flores took one shot, while sophomore Evileth Mendez and freshman Taylor Olsen each added one shot for the Lady Hub offense.
