HILLCREST — Village trustees approved a bid from Engel Electric Company in Sterling amounting $128,670 for the water generator replacement project. The village received seven bids for the generator project, which was originally estimated to cost around $180,000.
The new water generator will cover both the village water supply and the village hall in case of an emergency. Baxter & Woodman’s Carl Fischer said work on the project is scheduled to begin in early March. Fischer also said the project is expected to be completed by late September.
Hillcrest will be conducting seal coat work on the north end of the village this year. The cost for the seal coat work will be $44,000 and motor fuel tax revenue will be used for the project.
A meeting regarding the annexation of land for the solar farm project was postponed until next month due to a miscommunication. The annexation meeting will be scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10 with the monthly board meeting beginning 30 minutes afterward.
