On Oct. 10 at approximately 7:57 p.m. deputies responded to 120 Dayflower Circle in Davis Junction in reference to a domestic. After investigation, deputies placed Gerald Tyszko, 47, of Davis Junction, under arrest for domestic battery. Tyszko was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital for medical reasons not related to the domestic. Tyszko was released from the hospital on Oct. 11 and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending a court appearance in front of a judge.

Ogle County Sheriff’s Report: Oct. 10-14, 2024

OREGON — On Oct. 10 at approximately 7:57 p.m. deputies responded to 120 Dayflower Circle in Davis Junction in reference to a domestic. After investigation, deputies placed Gerald Tyszko, 47, of Davis Junction, under arrest for domestic battery. Tyszko was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital for medical reasons not related to the domestic. Tyszko was released from the hospital on Oct. 11 and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held pending a court appearance in front of a judge.

On Oct. 12 at approximately 3:26 p.m. deputies responded to the intersection of School Street and Pine Avenue for an UTV vs. ATV accident involving two minor juveniles. After a brief investigation, it was determined that the UTV collided with the ATV causing the UTV to lose control and overturn in the roadway. The juvenile operating the UTV was transported to Javon Bae Mercy Hospital by Oregon EMS for non-life threating injuries. The juvenile operating the ATV was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital by Rochelle EMS for non-life-threatening injuries.

On Oct. 13 at 10:41 a.m. deputies assisted by Stillman Valley Fire Department responded to a single vehicle rollover in the 1,900 block of North Meridian Road. After a brief investigation, it was determined that a grey Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 16-year-old female from Davis Junction, was traveling north on Meridian Road, when it traveled off the roadway, overcorrected, overturned, and coming to rest on its side. The driver was assessed by EMS and was transported to a local hospital by their parents. The juvenile was issued a warning for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

On Oct. 13 at approximately 3:36 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Illinois Route 251 and Dutch Road.  After investigation, deputies placed Dustin Doyle, 24, of Holcomb, under arrest for no valid driver’s license.  Doyle was released on a notice to appear at the scene and given a future court date.   

On Oct. 14 at approximately 11:39 p.m. deputies responded to an address in the 1,000 block of North Stillman Road in reference to a juvenile complaint. After investigation, a 15-year-old juvenile from Oregon, was placed under arrest for domestic battery and criminal damage to property. The juvenile was released pending a future court date. Deputies were assisted by Oregon EMS.

On Oct. 14 deputies and Forreston Fire and EMS responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Freeport Road and Townline Road in rural Forreston. After an investigation it was determined that a tractor trailer combination being driven by Robert S. Devries, 28, of Forreston, was westbound on Townline Road and failed to stop at the stop sign for Freeport Road. As a result a southbound Ford F150 being driven by Kyle M. Gruhn, 36, of Winnebago, struck the semi Devries was driving.  Devries was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way at an intersection and will appear in court at a later date. Devries was transported to Freeport Hospital for minor injuries.

All individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
