Police ID woman hit by train

ROCHELLE — Rochelle Police continue to investigate the death of a woman Tuesday afternoon after she was struck by a train.
On Tuesday, April 9 at 3:13 p.m., the Rochelle Police Department received a call of a train versus pedestrian in the vicinity of the Ken Wise Rochelle Railroad Park.  
Upon arrival to the scene, officers located a female subject on the Union Pacific train tracks that witnesses said was struck by a passing train.  
Lifesaving efforts by the Rochelle Fire Department were unsuccessful and the victim was pronounced deceased on scene.  
At this time the incident is still under investigation. The Rochelle Police Department was assisted by the Rochelle Fire Department, the Ogle County Sheriff’s Department, the Illinois State Police District 1 and the Ogle County Coroner’s Office.

No foul play is suspected at this time.
Identification of the victim has not been made at this time; however, the woman is not from the immediate area.  

***UPDATE***

At noon today, the identity of the woman hit by the train Tuesday afternoon was released. Police have identified the victim as Kristen J. Jaworski, 27, of Rockford.

At this time the incident is still under investigation.
