ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution recently enjoyed a presentation about the Madonna of the Trail by member Luan Wine, shown seated third from the left with guests and members of the chapter.
The two posters show the 12 identical "Madonna of the Trail" statues dedicated in 1928 & 1929 to the spirit of pioneer women. They mark the "Old Trails Road" as it passes through 12 states from Bethesda, Maryland to Upland, California.
The Chapter's next meeting will be on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Creston Opera House. Dr. Brian Wells will be presenting the program "Personalities." Guests are welcome to attend.
