MADISON, Wisc. — A Rochelle man has passed away following his participation in a swim race on Lake Monona in Madison on June 5, a press release from the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office said.
Michael J. Hahn, 51, of Rochelle was identified in the Monday press release.
The Big Swell Swim race took place Saturday. During the event, Hahn was removed from the water and was transported to a local hospital where he later died, the release said.
A forensic autopsy was completed on Sunday at the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office. Additional testing is underway at this time, the release said.
The death remains under investigation by the Madison Police Department and the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office.
