ROCHELLE — The Hubs sophomore baseball team ended its season on a high note Tuesday, coasting to a 10-0 victory over the Dixon Dukes to finish with an overall record of 16-8-1.
Brandon Johnson stifled the Dixon hitters all game long, throwing all five innings for Rochelle while striking out 12 and walking just one while surrendering two hits. Johnson also went 1-for-2 with a home run, an RBI and two runs scored.
Zack Bernardin singled and drove in one run, and Noah Knight finished the win going 2-for-3 with two singles and one run scored. Hayden Jones doubled, singled and plated one RBI while scoring two runs.
Cody Johnson and freshman Kaleb Hess each went 1-for-3 with a single and a run scored, while Anthony Hueramo totaled one RBI, one walk and one run scored. Louie Mancinas recorded a team-high three RBIs in the victory, and Mason DeLille doubled and added one RBI to round out the Rochelle offense on Tuesday.
